Yep, thats right. During my days off my girlfriend and I planned to go and visit an old friend of mine. He lives in Fiesch which lies in the beautiful canton Wallis. Of course being there, we would also go skiing in the Aletsch-Resort (site in german).

The Aletsch-Resort is split in 3 smaller regions, namely the Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp. You can buy either a ticket for the whole resort or just for one of the three regions. We were mainly on the Fiescheralp but also made the ride to the Bettmerhorn. As I heard the Restaurant on the Bettmerhorn offers a beautiful view to the Matterhorn. Unfortunately, it was a bit foggy that day. At least the prices for food and drink are very moderate there.

The slopes offer a wide variety of difficulty ranging from very wide rides ideal for carving, slower traverse „roads“ which offer a fantastic view over the valley and the Aletsch Glacier, high-speed runs and large areas for free-riding. The runs are quite long, so its not a „up-and-down“ all the tim.

All in all, it is a very good resort for both beginners as well as pros. I can recommend it to everyone.
