Leider hats bei uns nicht bis zum Hagel gereicht so wie bei Rouge, Aber trotzdem hats “quer gscheffet”. Natürlich hält mich auch Horizontalniederschlag nicht vom grillen ab

BTW: nachdem ich das Grillgut sicher reingebracht hab und der gröbste Wolkenbruch durch war, kam dann auch das SMS vom Wetterdienst. Danke Jungs, ich habs auch schon gemerkt…

Die Wurst war trotzdem fein!

Last Friday some friends and I visited the Zurich FanZone. It was the game Croatia vs. Turkey which ended in Turkeys favor. But first things first…

We arrived in the game break, which was about the worst time to arrive. There were endless queues in front of the Food- and Beer stalls. After some queuing we finally got our “beer” (I put the word beer in “‘s on purpose, as it was Carlsberg). Now we made our way to my Girlfriends stall. She works in the FanZone since the beginning and I only saw her sleeping. But anyhow, I’m so proud!

Just across her stall there was a TV screen and we followed the penalty kicking after extension. The spectators were quite peaceful. No serious trouble inside the FanZone. Both Fan blocks were quite heated up, but they remained peaceful.

I had about 3/4 of my mug still filled with beer. After the turks won, the S.W.A.T. Team of the Police cleared out the complete Fan-Zone. We got thrown out roughly including our beer. I couldn’t even agree on a meeting-spot with my girlfriend. It’s not really nice feeling a beating stick in your back.

We moved out of the FanZone before we would get “escorted” out and waited in the McDonalds nearby. I’ve sent my Girlfriend an SMS where we would wait.

All in all, the visit to the FanZone was enjoyable, except for the exiting-part. I got the feeling that the police was scared. OK, it was a high-risk meeting, but still. I think they over-reacted a bit.

Who wants Panini Pictures?

We’re on the final stretch to the Euro’08. And Switzerland is one of the host countries. In addition to that, the swiss are Panini champions. Statistically, every citizen has 40 Panini-pics. This is world class and way before the second place, Germany, with 3 pics per citizen.

When I was a Kid, I was also infected with the Panini-Virus. And it cost me most of my pocket money. Nowadays, the sales channels are a lot more sophisticated than they were during my school-years. Today, you get 2 pictures with every 0.5l bottle Coke you buy.

As I don’t even want to start collecting the pictures, i’ll just offer them here. Until now, I have the Following pictures available:

Free Internet

The swiss commuter-newspaper “20 Minuten” reported, that Sunrise offers a free ADSL-Link worth CHF 69.– if you get all your telecommunication services from them. This means land line, mobile phone and obviously ADSL. See here for the full article (German)

It is certainly a interesting development in the TelCo landscape in Switzerland. Since Swisscom lost its monopoly position, Sunrise is continously challenging Swisscom with new services or lower fees. Last was the “take-Away” internet based on a USB-Modem connecting to UMTS.

The Open-Air season is (almost) opened!

Yesterday the first Acts were announced for the Open Air Gampel. And guess what: NIGHTWISH is coming! YAY!!! After i’ve missed the gig of Within Temptation last year, I’ll put all my effort in that I can see this year’s appearance of one of my favourite bands.

Think i’ll have to get started in planning this year’s Open Air calendar. As the OAG is starting already on Thursday afternoon, it will involve some discussions with my boss. But better sooner than later
